"Cloudside is a band of local veterans, which includes members of Weatherbox, among others. And that being said, it's an album-quality recording rather than one that sounds like a demo, as can be expected of a team of musicians that have been in the game a while. Emerging Echoes is pure #emorevival feelings-core, loaded with hands-to-the-heavens sing-along moments and young dude angst. It skews a little Dashboard Confessional, but the melodies aren't half bad." soundcloud.com/cloudside

History
Originally formed under the name "HOJU" by guitarist Scott Szikla and drummer Jason Dean in early 2015, the duo played a string of shows under that banner before being joined by frontman Jeffrey Jackson and bassist Obed Herrera in the ladder half of the year. The new member additions and change to the overall sound of the music warranted a more appropriate and suitable band name. On November 13, 2015 the band released their debut album "Emerging Echoes" under their new header "Cloudside". The album was an extension of the HOJU project and was built off of what Scott and Jason had written and performed. The songs were simple but unique, mostly focusing on melody and emotion.
In February of 2017 leading up to the release of their second album, the band released an instrumental edit of Emerging Echoes including three electric instrumental versions of popular songs from the album.
On April 7th, 2017 the band released "IOLA", an album heavily based on the influences of each individual member of the band. While keeping with their melodic roots IOLA leans far more toward the Rock genre and is by comparison a much more conceptually thought out album.
All three releases(IOLA, Emerging Echoes and the instrumental edit) have had the same production team. John Hobdy a long time friend of the band originally introduced by Scott, would eventually become the bands unofficial fifth member taking on the responsibilities of recording, mixing and co-producing. Bobby Moore, whom Jeffrey had worked with in the past would take the helm mastering.
Each of the albums were recorded low budget and self released under the Cloudside label.
Along with album releases the band produces short web based videos titled "This Is Cloudside' in the feel of a classic rockumentary. The videos combine interviews, behind the scenes footage and more regarding the conceding album.
